Which Australian clinical systems does Dragon work with?
Dragon works today with Cerner PowerChart and Epic in Australian hospitals, and with Best Practice, Genie and Gentu in general practice and specialist rooms. Microsoft does not publish a list of supported clinical systems — it publishes a list of supported text controls, which is why compatibility is best confirmed for your specific setup.
Dragon Medical One and Dragon Copilot status across Australian clinical and practice management systems. Dragon Medical One is available in Australia today. Dragon Copilot is coming to the Australian market, so its per-system position will be confirmed on release.
These are the systems Dragon Medical One is documented or established to work with in Australia right now.
Cerner — Dragon works inside Cerner PowerChart. Microsoft lists the Cerner PowerChart WebView2 control as a supported text editor for Dragon Medical One, which means dictation goes straight into the clinical field rather than into a separate dictation window.
Epic — The deepest integration Microsoft publishes. Epic's text controls and Epic Hyperdrive are both named as supported, and Microsoft publishes a dedicated Dragon Copilot guide for Epic covering an embedded window inside the encounter and SmartSections that place the drafted note into the Epic template.
Best Practice — Dragon is used with Best Practice in Australian general practice for dictation into clinical notes, letters and referrals. Confirm the exact configuration for your version and setup with Voice Recognition Australia before deploying.
Genie — Magentus lists Dragon Medical One in its marketplace for Genie and runs a dedicated Dragon Medical One support section covering installation, dictation, formatting and vocabulary. Licensing can be bundled through Magentus.
Gentu — Same position as Genie — Magentus lists Dragon Medical One for Gentu and maintains a dedicated Dragon Medical One support section for it. Magentus also offers a separate native dictation feature built on Nuance speech technology; the two are different products, so confirm which one you are buying.
